SUNNIE DASGUPTA

Sunnie has been working as an occupational therapist for six years, primarily within the NDIS and disability sectors. During that time, she has worked with people across the lifespan, supporting individuals with a wide range of physical, neurological, developmental and psychosocial disabilities.

She has a particular interest in functional capacity assessments, assistive technology, home modifications and complex disability. Her approach is practical and person-centred, focusing on understanding what matters most to each individual and finding solutions that support independence, safety and quality of life.

Sunnie believes that effective occupational therapy starts with listening. She works collaboratively with participants, families and support networks to develop recommendations that are meaningful, achievable and tailored to the person's goals, environment and daily routines.

Alongside her clinical work, Sunnie has extensive experience completing detailed assessment and reporting for the NDIS, including Functional Capacity Assessments, Supported Independent Living (SIL) assessments, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) assessments, assistive technology prescriptions and home modification recommendations.

Sunnie is an authorised by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) to give evidence in court and other dispute resolution proceedings under section 7.52 of the Motor Accident Injuries Act 2017 (NSW). Her current authorisation is valid from 17 August 2026 to 16 August 2029.

When she's not working, you'll usually find her writing fantasy novels, sewing, reading urban fantasy, or spending time with her three cats. Sunnie speaks Hindi and Bengali.
