Occupational Therapist
Gerald is an occupational therapist who works across the whole lifespan, from children and adolescents through to adults and older adults. He loves helping people build their independence and confidence, and making sure the support he provides fits each person's goals and circumstances, not the other way around.
He has a particular interest in Functional Capacity Assessments, Supported Independent Living (SIL) assessments and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) assessments. Gerald likes to get the full picture of how someone is really going day to day, looking at everything from daily living skills and cognition to mobility, psychosocial functioning and their home environment. His aim is to write thorough, accurate reports that genuinely reflect what a participant needs, so they can access the right NDIS funding and supports.
His approach is pretty collaborative. Gerald works closely with participants, families, support coordinators and the wider care team to come up with practical solutions that actually work in everyday life. He believes good therapy starts with trust, so he puts real effort into listening, keeping communication open, and making sure every participant feels heard and respected along the way. Outside of work, Gerald plays rugby professionally and represents the Philippines in both rugby league and rugby union. He does casual modelling and enjoys travelling the world. In his spare time, he plays the piano and enjoys drawing and sketching. Gerald is also multilingual and can speak Tagalog, Japanese and Spanish.
